Reporting illness or a suspected case of Coronavirus

If you child is going to be absent due to a suspected case of Coronavirus, please email the school office ( to report this illness rather than leaving a message on the school answer phone. This will allow the admin team to monitor emails over the weekend and respond accordingly.

Please see below for the latest parent guidance what to do if your child is ill or you suspect they or someone in your household has Coronavirus.

The main symptoms of coronavirus are:

  • high temperaturethis means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
  • new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
  • loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you’ve noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Please note the current testing policy only advises testing for children with covid-19 symptoms  i.e. not asymptomatic children.  NB: A high temperature in children is generally 38 C or more – but not defined as such in the guidance.
