Personal Development at Ratby Primary School
Our Ratby Primary School community is founded on the key values of resilience, respect, responsibility and reflection. These values thread through all aspects of school life and apply in equal measure to staff, pupils and governors. These values embody our attitude and intentions towards the importance of the development of all aspects of the Personal Development curriculum. We value our Personal Development Curriculum as equally as we do our Academic Curriculum
We are an inclusive school which recognises the equality of each individual and their right to thrive within our community and we will support all our students through an inspiring curriculum which meets the needs of all.
Personal Development Curriculum Statement of Intent
The Personal Development Curriculum at Ratby Primary School covers the following areas:
- Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education
- Relationship and Sex Education
- Social, Moral, Spiritual and Cultural Development
- Fundamental British Values and Citizenship
- Character Development
- Pupil Well-Being
- Protected Characteristics
- Inclusion & Equal Opportunities
- Wider Opportunities
All our pupils are encouraged to take part in a wide range of activities and experiences across and beyond the curriculum, contributing fully to the life of the school and the wider community. In doing so, pupils learn to recognise and develop their character, their own personal identity and the ability to take their place in the community as well as respect for, and working with, others.
